Rules

The Rules of Visitor Service of the Lithuanian Museum of Educational History (hereinafter referred to as the Museum) (hereinafter referred to as the Rules) have been prepared in accordance with the Law on Museums of the Republic of Lithuania, Order No. IV – 985 of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania of 20 December 2018 “On the Amendment of Order No. IV – 556 of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania of 28 August 2015 “On the Establishment of Preferences for Visiting Museums”, Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania “On the Provision of Sports Culture and Entertainment Services and the rules for consumer information in the provision of these services”, regulations of the Lithuanian Museum of Educational History, Order no. INV-716 of 16 December 2005 of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania

“On the Approval of the Instructions for the Protection, Accounting and Storage of Collections in Museums”, other valid legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and orders of the Museum Director. The Rules regulate the procedure for servicing, behavior and provision of services to Museum visitors in the Museum premises and on its territory. The Rules apply to Museum employees, visitors and persons carrying out commercial activities on the Museum territory.

MUSEUM OPENING HOURS $first = false;

The visiting time of the Lithuanian Education Museum is approved by order of the Director of the Museum and officially published on the museum’s website www.lsim.lt.

Special events in the Museum can also take place outside the museum’s working hours. Visitors are informed about this on the official website of the Museum (www.lsim.lt), social networks, announcements, posters or other information about events.

The Museum reserves the right to change the working hours, close part of the expositions or limit the admission of persons due to the installation and management works performed, the management of events and visitor flows, and other circumstances of the Museum’s activities. Visitors are informed about this in advance on the official website of the Museum, on social networks. The closure of parts of the exposition does not affect the prices of the ticket for visiting the Museum.

The last visitors are admitted 30 minutes before the museum closes.

TICKETING PROCEDURES, DISCOUNTS AND CONCESSIONS $first = false;

Visitors are admitted to the exposition of the Lithuanian Museum of Educational History only during the museum’s working hours, having purchased tickets before visiting the expositions. 30 minutes before the end of the Museum’s opening hours, visitors are not allowed to enter the expositions.
Tickets and other services are paid for by payment in cash, by payment card or by bank transfer.
A ticket for visiting the museum is purchased for one visit for a specific date. By purchasing tickets, visitors confirm their benevolent cooperation and their commitment to comply with these Rules. Services are sold to visitors according to their duration and the opening hours of the Museum. The Museum has the right not to sell services that are longer than the remaining time before the end of the Museum’s working hours. Less than 1 hour before the end of the Museum’s opening hours, educational activities are not conducted.

Purchased tickets are not exchanged and the money for them is not refunded, unless the services were not or cannot be provided to visitors due to the fault of the Museum.
The visitor must keep the ticket safe during the entire visit to the Museum and at any time upon request must provide it to the responsible employee of the Museum.
Prices for excursions, educational activities, commercial exhibitions and other additional services are not included in the ticket price for visiting the Museum. They are paid extra.

Tickets and discounts for visiting the museum are approved by order of the director. The museum has the right to apply special short-term discounts (promotions), which are formalized by a separate order of the director.

Persons wishing to purchase a discounted ticket for visiting the Museum or to visit for free must, before purchasing a ticket, provide the Museum employee with a document confirming their belonging to the target group to which the discount is applied. In case of refusal to provide the relevant document, the discount does not apply. Discounted tickets are valid only for the person who has purchased the ticket and cannot be transferred to other persons. VISITING CONDITIONS $first = false;

THE VISITOR MUST:

  • Observe discipline in the museum’s expositions, territory and events, behave safely, do not pose a threat to yourself, other visitors and employees, their property and the environment;
  • follow warning signs or other indications related to visiting the Museum’s expositions, territory and events, as well as the verbal instructions of the Museum’s employees;
  • parents, guardians, group leaders or accompanying persons are responsible for the behavior and safety of children, schoolchildren during visits to the Museum;
  • take care of the safety of your own health and property and the health of the accompanying persons. The museum is not responsible for items left unattended. Found items are stored in the Museum’s information center for no more than 30 calendar days;
  • to stop visiting the territory of the Museum if there is or may be a threat to the health or life of the visitor and / or his accompanying persons and / or his property;
  • immediately inform the responsible employee of the Museum about the actions and / or events that may have caused / have caused damage to the health, life, property of the visitor or other persons and about the circumstances due to which he cannot visit the museum’s expositions, territory and / or use the equipment located there in accordance with the established procedure;
  • visitors can use the wardrobe. The Museum is not responsible for the items left in the locker room. Visitors are encouraged not to leave money or other valuable items in the clothes left in the locker room.

THE MUSEUM UNDERTAKES TO:

  • Before providing the service of an excursion guide or educator, to provide the visitor with the necessary correct, complete, accurate and clear information regarding the conditions of provision of services, their price, terms of provision, possible consequences and other information that affects the visitor’s decision to receive the service;
  • to provide the visitor with the purchased service in accordance with the requirements of legal acts and the provisions of these Rules;
    Museum employees serving visitors must comply with the requirements of the Internal Rules of Procedure, without violating the rights of visitors;
    The museum shall not be liable for the damage caused to the visitor or to third parties if the visitor has not complied with these Rules or the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • The Museum shall not be liable for misleading or other information published by third parties about the time of visiting the Museum, prices for tickets and services, as well as other conditions of visiting the Museum and the activities of the Museum.

MUSEUM STAFF HAVE THE RIGHT TO:

  • For obstructing the conduct of the tour, non-compliance with the instructions of the Museum staff or other inappropriate behavior of the visitor to interrupt the excursion, and ask visitors to leave the Museum. Money for the services provided in this case is not refunded;
  • in case of pre-ordering of services and if the customer does not notify about the delay, wait for visitors for 20 minutes from the agreed arrival time, and if visitors do not arrive by that time, services can be provided to other visitors without prior booking;
  • to ask visitors to leave the premises and / or territory of the Museum, if they do not comply with these Rules, to discipline them verbally, and if necessary – to call the police. The money for the ticket in this case is not refunded.
RESTRICTIONS $first = false;

THE VISITOR IS PROHIBITED FROM:

  • visitors who are under the influence of alcohol, narcotic or other psychotropic substances are not allowed to enter the Museum. An employee of the museum, suspecting that the visitor is intoxicated, has the right not to sell a ticket to the museum and ask to leave the museum premises;
  • touch the museum’s exhibits and their showcases, electrical and other panels;
  • damage, destroy or arbitrarily move devices, information arrows, stands, other signs;
  • bypass the protective fences, go to the premises reserved for the museum staff or other spaces not intended for visitors;
  • running, making noise, playing loud music or otherwise disturbing employees and other visitors;
  • to break, damage, damage or otherwise destroy the movable and immovable property of the Museum located in the premises and territory of the Museum, as well as the property of other visitors;
  •  enter the premises of the Museum by wearing extremely dirty clothes and / or footwear, which may cause damage to the exposition premises, exhibits, property of other persons;
  • to bring alcoholic beverages, narcotic and psychotropic substances and / or consume them in the premises of the Museum and throughout the territory;
  • smoking in the premises of the Museum;
  • littering in the premises and territory of the Museum;
  •  to bring animals into the premises of the Museum, except for guide dogs;
  • enter the premises of the Museum with roller skates, scooters, bicycles or skateboards;
  • to bring into the museum’s exposition spaces large-sized handbags, suitcases, bags, backpacks and other items that, due to their shape or size, may pose a threat to the exhibits. They must be left in the locker room;
  •  to bring into the premises and territory of the Museum weapons, knives, firearms or non-firing weapons, other means of self-defense, gas canisters, as well as other sharp or dangerous objects that could pose a threat to the health and exhibits of visitors or employees of the Museum;
  • eat and / or drink in the expositions of the Museum, except for the designated places during the events organized by the Museum;
  • without the separate permission of the Director of the Museum to film and / or take pictures in the premises and territory intended for museum visitors for commercial or other non-personal purposes;
  • distribute material photographed or filmed for personal purposes for payment;
  • without the consent of the Museum employee, it is forbidden to film and / or photograph it and make such material public;
  • allow drones and other flyers on the territory of the Museum;
  • in the premises intended for visitors in the museum, it is possible to shoot and take pictures for free for personal purposes without using a flash, selfie stick and / or stand;
  • in order to film and / or photograph for commercial purposes in the premises and territory of the museum, it is necessary to coordinate this in advance with the Director of the Museum. The museum has the right to set an additional fee for permission to film and photograph;
  • it is forbidden to arbitrarily, without the permission of the Director of the Museum, hang any temporary advertisements, posters, links in the premises of the Museum and its territory;
  • a visitor who has purchased a ticket to the Museum and / or other services of the Museum or has entered the premises and / or territory of the Museum in another way agreed with the Museum Administration is considered to have familiarized himself with these Rules and is obliged to comply with them;
  • the visitor is fully liable for all damage caused to the Museum as a result of non-compliance with these Rules. The museum has the right to demand its compensation in accordance with the procedure established by the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania.
