Exhibition “Matchbox labels – small graphics”

The exhibition “Matchbox Labels – Small Graphic Art” of the Mažeikiai Museum presents small-format graphic artworks – matchbox labels – reflecting the scientific and technical achievements of the 20th century, marking important events, celebrations, personalities and revealing the diversity of orders from industrial and commercial enterprises of the last century.
The history of the first match factories in Lithuania dates back to the second half of the 19th century, when match factories were opened in Kaunas, Klaipėda, Mažeikiai (where a matchstraw factory was operating), Telšiai, Ukmergė and other places.

The exhibition “Matchbox Labels – Small Graphic Art” of the Mažeikiai Museum will be open at the Lithuanian Museum of Education from 8 April 2025 to 7 June 2025.
